Process simulation
A model of how work moves through a process under different conditions.
When this is useful
Changing a task or adding capacity can affect waiting time elsewhere in a process. A simulation can examine these effects before a proposed arrangement is put into operation.
My contribution
I define the process model and its assumptions, compare scenarios and assess which conclusions depend most on uncertain inputs.

Paired queue simulations compare two and three workers under identical arrivals and service durations, with waiting distributions and sensitivity to arrival rate.
What it covers
- Arrival rates, task durations and dependencies
- Queues, handoffs and resource capacity
- Delays, exceptions and repeated work
- Results under alternative process arrangements
- Comparison with observed behaviour where available
The output
A simulation and scenario analysis showing modelled capacity, waiting times or other relevant outcomes.
