When this is useful
A group may be useful for one question and obscure important differences for another. Its definition also determines whether people can move between groups over time.
My contribution
I define and compare groupings, examine their variation and assess whether they are useful for the intended analysis or process.
A fixed cohort of 2,000 customers moves between recency states over 90 days; each row sums to 100%, and 45.5% change state.
